Golden images

If you don't have any existing databases to snapshot, or you wish to manipulate the data before providing it to a testing environment (for example, making certain private data anonymous), you can provide data to ephemeral environments from a golden image Amazon RDS instance through Instant Datasets.

To do this you need to:

• Setup an Amazon RDS instance – you can do this manually or using a tool like Terraform or Pulumi.

• Set this instance to backup daily.

• Update the data in the database frequently.

• Create an Instant Dataset pool in the Release UI.
